I took all footage and photos I could find of The Who “A Day In The Country” and edited it together to make a promotional film of “Pictures Of Lily” based on the information given in the book “Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere: the complete chronicle of THE WHO 1958 – 1978” by Andy Neill and Matt Kent. The song was recorded at IBC, Pye Studio by Kit Lambert and Alan Mackenzie on April 5, 1967 and the film footage was filmed in Schwarzwald (Black Forest), Baden-Württemberg, Germany, by Richard Stanley and Chris Morphet on April 7, 1967 and according to the book an unseen promo was edited by Stanley for the song. Not having an actual timeline or script I pieced it together based on the information in the book and the possibility of the clothing change in the last footage supplied. I only wanted to offer something more original or close to how the song and footage was originally intended since it was only offered in segments over several documentaries and promos not originally intended for the content. I don’t own this content and only intend it for entertainment and educational purposes. I hope it can be used for that purpose only and no distribution or payment on my part expected.
